Anya Rune has broken her silence following her WWE release. After becoming one of the latest names cut from the developmental system, Rune had a simple message for the fans who are sticking with her.
The response came after a fan took to Twitter to show support for Rune, whose real name is Airica Demia. The fan argued that she never really got a fair opportunity to show what she could do during her short WWE run.
“Dammit 💔 Ppl was clowning her after her 1st promo in Evolve man. She never really got a good chance to show what she can do. Shine the absolute brightest Airica (@theMC_AnyaRune). Will always support her 💚❤️🖤 UwU 👉👈”
Rune took to Twitter saw the message and responded directly, thanking the fan for continuing to support her after her departure.
“Thank you for your continued support 💚👉👈”
It’s Rune’s first reaction following the news that she was included in WWE’s latest round of developmental cuts. Rune entered WWE’s system after participating in the company’s February 2026 tryouts in Orlando. She was eventually given the Anya Rune name and started getting her first real WWE experience through Evolve.
Rune’s run included a Fatal 4-Way for a spot in the vacant Evolve Women’s Championship match, along with matches against developmental names including Layla Diggs, Zena Sterling and Skylar Raye. She never got the chance to establish herself as a regular part of NXT before WWE decided to move on.
Rune is hardly alone either. WWE’s latest developmental cuts have also included Jasper Troy, PJ Vasa, Wendy Choo, Adriana Rizzo, Zena Sterling and Braxton Cole. The releases appear to be part of WWE continuing to evaluate its crowded developmental system. Bryan Alvarez previously explained that talent are evaluated every six months and can find themselves on the chopping block if WWE doesn’t believe they’re showing enough improvement.
Rune’s WWE opportunity ended particularly quickly considering she only entered the system earlier this year. She hasn’t said much about what comes next yet, but her first message after being released makes one thing clear: she appreciates the people who plan on following her wherever she goes next.
