Anthony Smith Doesn’t Believe Daniel Cormier Is Returning to Light Heavyweight

While appearing on Ariel Helwani MMA Show, Anthony Smith mentioned that he doesn’t believe that Daniel Cormier will come back down to the 205 division. Smith also proclaimed that DC should give Stipe his rematch.

“I just don’t think that DC’s gonna come back down to 205. I think that he already knows that. I just don’t see any world where DC comes back down to 205. And honestly, if I’m being honest with you, I think that DC needs to go back up to heavyweight, and I think he needs to give Stipe his rematch.”

Smith would go on to say that the lightweight championship should be vacated because Cormier is eventually going to be out of the picture.

“I think so. I do. I think that with my willingness to do whatever is needed in the division…you know Glover’s fell, and Gus is hurt, and Volkan is hurt. Like, who else is there? Who else do you put there?”
