Alberto Del Rio’s situation in his domestic violence case just took another turn — and this one could land him back behind bars.
According to a RECORD Mexico, Alberto Del Rio is now under review after his recent return to the ring, with authorities examining whether his actions violated the conditions tied to his release in an ongoing domestic violence case.
The controversy stems from a May 1 appearance at Arena José Sulaimán in Monterrey, where Del Rio competed in a tribute show for his father, Dos Caras. During the event, a moment involving LA Park sparked backlash and raised legal concerns: “Alberto, I think it’s a woman, hit her.” The comment drew laughter from Del Rio, and combined with prior remarks attributed to him, it has now triggered a deeper review from the legal side.
According to the report, lawyers representing the accuser — his partner Mary Carmen Rodríguez — are currently analyzing whether Del Rio’s conduct at the event could be considered a violation of the precautionary measures imposed by the judge when he was released on April 11.
Those conditions are strict and still active. They include staying away from the victim, attending rehabilitation therapy, and undergoing periodic evaluations designed to prevent further incidents.
Del Rio was originally arrested on April 6 after his wife called emergency services reporting physical and verbal abuse. Authorities detained him at a home in the Lomas del Tecnológico neighborhood, and he had remained in custody at La Pila prison after a judge initially ordered preventive detention.
Del Rio’s release itself came after a financial settlement and legal pardon allowed him to avoid remaining in custody, but the case is still open and under judicial supervision. Now, this latest situation could change everything.
If the court determines that his behavior — including the comments made during the May 1 event — breached those conditions, there is a real possibility that Del Rio could be sent back to prison while the case continues.
Bottom line, Del Rio isn’t just dealing with public criticism — he’s facing a legal review that could directly impact his freedom, and the outcome may hinge on how the court interprets what happened in that ring.
