The viral AEW Grand Slam Australia 2026 moment involving Andrade and an Australian indie wrestler wasn’t nearly as planned out as fans may have thought.

Months after the segment got attention online, Australian wrestler Aysha is finally explaining exactly how the spot came together — and according to her, she didn’t even know she’d be involved until the day of the show.

During Grand Slam Australia on February 14, Andrade faced Adam Page in a #1 contender’s match for the AEW World Championship. During the bout, Andrade rolled outside the ring, posed for a selfie with Aysha at ringside, and received a kiss on the cheek from her.

Page later interacted with her as well, leading to an awkward-looking moment that sparked conversation online after it appeared she tried to kiss him as well. Now, speaking with Grapple Theory, Aysha revealed she originally thought she would simply be working as an extra for the event.

“I found out, um, on the day. Um, in terms of being an extra, I did find out I think maybe six weeks ago.”

Aysha explained that she initially reached out to AEW herself months earlier but assumed nothing would come from it after hearing nothing back.

“I did, like, I reached out, sent an email around December, didn’t hear anything back. So, I actually didn’t think I was going to be a part of those shows at all.”

She eventually got invited in as an extra but still didn’t expect to actually appear in a featured on-screen spot.

“Um, expected to just be an extra or just hang out, whatever. I don’t really have too high expectations of being able to do anything.”

According to Aysha, she found out about the Andrade segment first — and surprisingly, it was already the exact kind of cameo she had hoped for.

“But yeah, on the day, I—well, I first found out about me doing the Andrade spot first, um, and that was actually kind of my expectation. I was like, if I were to do anything, that’s a spot that I want to do because I saw that it started to be a thing.”

Things became even more chaotic shortly after, when she also learned she’d be wrestling later in the night.

“Um, and then I found out about the match that I had with Sisters of Sin about, I think, 15 minutes later, and that was about an hour before doors.”

Aysha admitted that the moment involving Adam Page ended up creating more attention than she expected — especially because fans thought she attempted to kiss him despite him being married. She says that wasn’t actually what happened.

“My spot, I think, had a whole lot of attention because there was the stuff with Hangman as well. I didn’t realize he was married. I was—it did look like I was trying to kiss him.”

Aysha then clarified she was simply trying to recreate the same cheek-kiss spot she had already done with Andrade.

“What I was trying to do as well with him is, ’cause I kissed Andrade on the cheek, I was trying to do the same with Hangman, but unfortunately he turned around as I was doing it, so it looked a bit worse than it ended up being.”

Despite the confusion online, Aysha said she’s enjoyed becoming part of Andrade’s ongoing fan-interaction gimmick and likes seeing other women get involved in similar spots. She even joked about everyone eventually taking a group photo together one day.

“But it’s been really cool seeing all the other girls be a part of the Andrade spot. Like, it’d be great one day if we could all just meet up and have a photo with all of us that have been part of it.”

What originally looked like a random ringside interaction has now turned into one of the more talked-about fan moments from AEW Grand Slam Australia — and according to Aysha, almost all of it came together at the last minute.
