Avery Styles is officially headed to TNA Lockdown, and the son of AJ Styles is about to step onto one of the biggest stages of his young wrestling career.
TNA Wrestling announced that Avery will appear at TNA Lockdown on Sunday, August 23, from Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The company has not revealed exactly what Avery will be doing at the pay-per-view, and there’s no confirmation yet that he’ll actually compete in a match. That mystery makes the appearance even more interesting considering who his father is.
AJ Styles is one of the most important names in TNA history. During his legendary run with the company, Styles captured the World Championship, X-Division Championship and Tag Team Championships multiple times while becoming one of the faces of TNA. AJ last wrestled for TNA in 2013, though he returned to TNA programming for appearances in 2025 and 2026 as the working relationship between WWE and TNA continued. Now his son is getting his own moment.
Avery made his professional wrestling debut in June and has already started building experience on the independent scene, including appearances for GCW. Lockdown will give him exposure in front of a much larger TNA audience just months into his career. Whether TNA plans to have Avery wrestle, appear in a segment or potentially do something involving his father remains to be seen, but the company is keeping his role under wraps heading into the show.
TNA Lockdown streams live on TNA+ from Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago on August 23 at 5:00 PM. The current card includes The Hardys defending the TNA World Tag Team Championship against The Nemeths, DemonXBunny defending the TNA Women’s World Tag Team Championship against The Elegance Brand, Jason Hotch defending the TNA International Championship against Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander defending the TNA X Division Championship against Leon Slater.
Moose will also face Frankie Kazarian in an Escape The Cage match, while KC Navarro, Ricky Sosa, Jada Stone and Fabian Aichner battle The System’s Eddie Edwards, Bear Bronson, Jada Stone and Brian Myers in Lethal Lockdown. Elijah vs. AJ Francis is also scheduled for the event.
Avery Styles is still at the very beginning of his wrestling career, but appearing for the company where his father became a legend gives this one some extra weight. Now the big question is whether TNA is simply introducing him to its audience or whether something much bigger is already being lined up.
What do you think TNA has planned for Avery Styles at Lockdown, and would you like to see him wrestle on the show? Leave your feedback and let us know what you think.
