AJ Styles is standing by Ludwig Kaiser after his recent arrest, and he made it clear he does not believe Kaiser would risk serious trouble over nothing.

While speaking on the Phenomenally Retro podcast, Styles said he knows Kaiser very well and believes something serious must have happened for him to react the way he allegedly did. Styles said he could not speak to every detail, but he clearly sided with Kaiser.

“Listen, I know Kaiser well—very well—and if something were said that pissed him off enough to fight with someone, they deserved it.”

The Phenomenal One then questioned the idea that Ludwig Kaiser would put himself in legal jeopardy over something minor. In his view, the situation likely involved more than a simple disagreement.

“I can’t speak on what exactly happened, but come on—we’re not stupid. This guy wouldn’t risk going to jail over something as petty as, ‘Oh, I wish you’d mind your manners.’ Shut the freak up—I don’t believe that for one second.”

Styles also appeared to take issue with the other person involved, suggesting they should have removed themselves from the situation instead of escalating things.

“And besides, man the freak up—just sit there and go to your little room. That’s how I understand the story. Get out and mind your own business. Sounds like you’re pretty jealous to me.”

He clarified that he does not know the entire story and said the situation would be different if children were involved, but he does not believe that was the case. He called Kaiser a class act and saying he believes there had to be a strong reason for the incident to happen.

“I don’t know the whole story. If there were kids involved, that’s different—but I don’t think that’s the case at all. So listen, I’ll be on my buddy’s side. I believe this guy probably got what was coming to him. Ludwig Kaiser is the definition of a class act. So to hear something like this happen, I’m like, ‘Oh, he must have really been pissed off about something to do something like this.’”

This comes after False Finish reported that WWE is not expected to discipline Kaiser following his arrest. Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, remains involved in AAA’s El Grande Americano storyline while the legal situation continues.

Kaiser was arrested in Orange County, Florida, over an alleged April 23 altercation at the Paramount on Lake Eola Apartments in Orlando. He later posted $1,000 bond and entered a written plea of not guilty. The misdemeanor battery case remains active.

His legal team also filed a supplemental motion asking the court to allow him to travel out of state and internationally for WWE and AAA-related obligations. The filing stated that prosecutors did not object to the request.

“Since the initial filing of the Motion to Travel, undersigned counsel communicated with Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch, who indicated no objection to this motion. WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the Defendant respectfully requests this Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and internationally.”

AAA already moved forward with El Grande Americano’s rescheduled “Serenata Para” event at the Kings League Dome, where the public appearance was limited to the first 300 attendees. Before the event, AAA posted a video of El Grande Americano speaking ahead of the appearance.

“My people, we’re here. Where are you guys? I can’t wait. I’m really, really excited, and honestly, I really, really wanted to be here. I’m ready. Let’s go.”

For now, Kaiser’s legal case is still active, but WWE does not appear to be moving toward punishment. With AJ Styles publicly defending him and AAA continuing the El Grande Americano storyline, Kaiser’s status on-screen does not seem to be changing anytime soon.
