AEW is going all out for the October 28 episode of Dynamite, as it will build towards the Full Gear pay-per-view. That’s why the company has booked a memorable lineup with big matches to keep fans engaged from start to finish.
AEW TNT Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Josh Alexander
Josh Alexander wants to bring another championship to the Don Callis Family. Darby Allin is standing in the way. Alexander has picked up back-to-back wins on TNT and used that run to call his shot against the TNT Champion.
Now he gets exactly what he asked for. Darby successfully defended the championship against Kyle Fletcher at Grand Slam France before getting through Hechicero in another title defense the following week. He’s also coming off the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream, so the champion hasn’t exactly been getting much time to slow down.
Alexander has a chance to take advantage of that tonight. One more win doesn’t just continue his recent run — it puts the TNT Championship around his waist and gives the Don Callis Family another major piece of gold.
For now, somebody gets the advantage back. There’s also not much these teams don’t know about each other anymore. They’ve already wrestled twice in a matter of days, and they’ll potentially have to do it another two times after tonight.
Best-of-Five Series – Match Three: Motor City Machine Guns vs. FTR
The Motor City Machine Guns took the opening match of their Best-of-Five Series against FTR at WrestleDream, giving Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin the early 1-0 advantage. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler answered on Collision.
FTR won match two to even things at 1-1, which makes tonight’s third meeting pretty important. Whoever wins takes a 2-1 lead and suddenly needs just one more victory to finish the series. There’s also not much these teams don’t know about each other anymore. They’ve already wrestled twice in a matter of days, and they’ll potentially have to do it another two times after tonight. For now, somebody gets the advantage back.
AEW TBS Championship: Persephone (c) vs. Queen Aminata
Queen Aminata earned this one. Aminata defeated former TBS Champion Maya World on Dynamite last week in a No. 1 Contender’s Match, giving her another opportunity at Persephone and the championship.
The two already know each other pretty well. Aminata was one of three challengers who tried to take the title from Persephone in the Four-Way Match at WrestleDream. Persephone survived that match against Aminata, Hyan and Dani Luna, but she didn’t have to beat Aminata one-on-one to keep the championship.
Tonight removes everybody else from the equation. Aminata finally gets Persephone by herself, while the champion gets the chance to prove she can beat her challenger without two other women being involved.
