AEW is shifting networks for one night, and the timing puts the show on the same evening as a major WWE event.

The May 9 episode of AEW Collision is scheduled to air on TBS instead of its usual home on TNT. The change is happening because TNT will be airing NHL playoff coverage that night. Even with the network move, Collision is still expected to air at its normal start time of 8 PM Eastern.

The show has already been announced under the “Fairway to Hell” theme and will take place at the SoFi Center in West Palm Beach. The venue is an indoor golf facility, and AEW is expected to lean into the theme by involving golfers and golf influencers as part of the show.

The timing makes things more interesting because WWE will be running WWE Backlash that same night from Tampa. That event is scheduled to stream on ESPN Unlimited starting at 6 PM Eastern.

That means the two shows won’t start at the same time, but there will be some overlap later in the night, giving fans a choice about what to watch. AEW has not officially confirmed the network change yet, even though the updated listing is already showing on television schedules.

With a themed show, a one-night network move, and WWE running a premium live event the same night, May 9 is shaping up to be a busy night for wrestling fans.
