AAA’s Rey de Reyes 2026 takes place live from the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla, Mexico. This year’s event marks the first Rey de Reyes since WWE officially took ownership of AAA, and the promotion has put together a loaded card featuring championship stakes, tournament finals, and major appearances.

Dominik Mysterio will defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo in a No Disqualification Match with massive consequences. If Mysterio loses, he must leave AAA permanently. However, if Vikingo fails to win, he will never again challenge for the Mega Championship while Mysterio remains champion.

The Rey de Reyes Tournament Final will also take place as La Parka, El Grande Americano, the “Original” El Grande Americano, and Santos Escobar collide in a Fatal Four-Way Match. The winner will receive the ceremonial Rey de Reyes sword and earn a future AAA Mega Championship opportunity.

The Reina de Reinas Championship will also be defended when Flammer issues an open challenge. However, the challenger must come from either WWE Raw or WWE SmackDown, creating intrigue about who might answer the call.

In addition, WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta is scheduled to appear during the show. Penta will present the ceremonial sword to the Rey de Reyes tournament winner.

The show kicks off at 10:00 PM ET on FOX in Latin America and is available for international fans on streaming platforms like YouTube. Ringside News will provide live, match-by-match updates and highlights throughout the night. No DQ Match for AAA Mega Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

Dorian and Vikingo came to the ring without Omos, which stood out. Dominik Mysterio then made his entrance to a huge ovation, wearing multiple shirts and coats decorated with ribcage designs. The stipulation for the match stated that if Mysterio lost, he would have to leave AAA and Mexico forever.

The bell rang and Vikingo immediately stepped out of the ring to grab a kendo stick. Mysterio followed and grabbed one of his own. The two clashed with the sticks before tossing them aside and beginning to fight.

Mysterio struck first with a dropkick, but Vikingo came back and the two traded armdrags. Vikingo sent Mysterio into the corner and chopped him before landing a dropkick to his midsection.

Mysterio avoided one attack but not the next and rolled to the floor. Vikingo followed and grabbed a couple of chairs. He threw one at Mysterio, smashing it into his forehead. The referee checked on Mysterio as Vikingo hit a baseball slide and then sent him into the ring steps before setting up a chair.

Vikingo sat Mysterio in the chair and hit a suicide dive, knocking him out of it. Both returned to the ring where Vikingo scored the first near fall, but Mysterio kicked out at two.

Vikingo then pulled a garbage can out from under the ring, placed it over Mysterio’s head, and struck it with a kendo stick. He dropkicked the can and went for another cover, but again only got a two count.
