At WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday, Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion and now he’s set to defend his title against AJ Styles at Backlash today and in light of this, the closing match for the Premium Live Event has been revealed.
The Backlash Premium Live Event will be taking place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines, France. While considered a B-level Premium Live Event, Backlash has often proven to be a worthwhile show.
The American Nightmare took to Twitter and confirmed that his match against AJ Styles will be the main event of Backlash. In addition to that, it will be the first Premium Live Event main event for the Undisputed WWE Title officiated by a woman.
”Wanted to mention this after the contract signing, (and forgive me if I’m wrong but I don’t think I am…) It’ll also be the VERY FIRST PLE Main Event for The Undisputed @WWE Title officiated by a woman”
Nevertheless, we will have to wait and whether The American Nightmare will be able to defeat AJ Styles in the main event of Backlash today, as it is unlikely Rhodes would lose so soon.

- WWE World Heavyweight Title: Damian Priest (c) vs. Jey Uso
- WWE Women’s Title: Bayley (c) vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles: The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) (c) vs. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
- Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga)
