Countdown To WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday Kickoff Pre-Show (4/7/2024):

The Countdown to WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday Kickoff Pre-Show opens up with Michael Cole welcoming us. He is joined by Pat McAfee, Big E and CM Punk. We then see “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes’ bus in the parking lot as well as Bayley and Damage CTRL arriving in the arena earlier today.

We then see Drew McIntyre and World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin Rollins” arriving in the arena earlier today followed by highlights from WrestleMania XL Saturday.

Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and WWE United States Champion Logan Paul were also shown arriving in the arena earlier today and Michael Cole welcomes us to the panel as Big E makes his way to the crowd and CM Punk is shown holding two Slammy Awards.

Cole then discusses The Rock and Roman Reigns beating Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin’” Rollins at WrestleMania XL Saturday in order for tonight’s main event to be under Bloodline Rules. We then get clips from Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns’ comments at the WrestleMania XL Saturday Press Conference, where he had reporters acknowledge him and one reporter kicked out.

We then return to the panel as they discuss what kind of an affect Bloodline Rules will have on tonight’s main event. Cole then asks t if Cody can finish his story tonight and the crowd in the background reacts, while Punk says he has known Cody for a while now and if anyone can do it, then it’s Cody.

We then see WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque in the back and we go to the second part of his interview with Megan Morant. Morant first asks about CM Punk’s return to the WWE. Triple H says if you asked him a few weeks earlier, they had zero communication despite the rumors, but as they got closer to Survivor Series, Punk talked with Nick Khan and he had no problems with Khan talking to Punk. Triple H then says he checked out the fees for Cult of Personality and they had to get the contract done quick since Punk was already on his way back. Triple H then says only a few knew and he talked to the people in the main event about the signing. Triple H also says he talked to a number of people to discuss their issues. Triple H then says this is a different CM Punk and it has been for the best. Triple H then says Punk has been a great employee and they are keeping him involved while he is out with an injury.

Morant then asks about the issues with Punk, Drew and Seth. Triple H says Seth and Punk might respect each other, but they are not fans of each other. Triple H also says Drew has issues with Punk as well and things changed when Punk was announced for commentary. Morant then asks about what is coming in 2024 and Triple H says he is excited to be doing this and he is excited about the future.

Morant then asks what WWE will be like in five years and Triple H says this company isn’t broken or damaged, but he wants to be able to turn it into something more. Triple H also says it will feel like a different place going into next year’s Wrestlemania and they are listening to the fans.

Cole then asks Punk when he knew he was coming back. Punk says it was during the Survivor Series PLE itself and he appreciates Triple H’s honesty with his answers. Punk also says he is happy to be in the mix while he is out injured. Punk also says he is happy to see old buddies and he is not the same person he was ten years ago and Triple H isn’t the same person he was ten years ago as well.

We then get a video package for the Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns Bloodline Rules Match.

Byron Saxton is then shown outside of Cody Rhodes’ bus and Byron says that Cody is in there. Byron also says he saw the medical staff entering the bus earlier in the show, but he is not aware of any health issues that Cody is currently dealing with.

We then get a video package for the WWE United States Championship Triple Threat Match.

Byron Saxton is then show interviewing WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY. Saxton asks SKY if Bayley knows how to beat her. SKY then says that was a stupid question. SKY then says they kicked Bayley out because she doesn’t deserve it. SKY then says she will still be the champion.

Peter Rosenberg is then shown at the top of the stadium from earlier today and he says he will be in the front row later in the show. We then take a look at WrestleMania by the numbers.

We then head back to the panel, where Cole jokes about how Snoop Dogg gave him a hoodie sweater earlier today. We then see FOX Sports’ Tom Rinaldi walking on the long entrance ramp inside Lincoln Financial Field and Cole says he will join them at the panel.

We then get highlights from the Rey Mysterio and Andrade vs. Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar Match from WrestleMania XL Saturday, including the surprise finish that saw the involvement of Philadelphia Eagles players Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson.

Cathy Kelley is then shown in the back and she talks about how Drew McIntyre is confident about winning tonight.

We then get a video package for the WWE Women’s Championship Match between Bayley and IYO SKY.

Kayla Braxton is then shown interviewing Bayley. Braxton asks Bayley how she is doing. Bayley then says she is hanging by a thread as she didn’t imagine that it would get to this point. Bayley then says she wonders what was real and were they really friends or did they just use her. Bayley then mentions Dakota Kai and how Kai used their history against her and used her in her most vulnerable state.

Braxton then asks Bayley about those people who say she had it coming. Bayley says she has made a number of enemies and she wanted to create something to get to the top, but she did it for SKY and Dakota. Bayley then says she did not care who she hurt. Bayley also says she is paying for that now. Bayley is then asked about her preparation for the match. Bayley says she is more focused and Damage CTRL has made a mistake underestimating her. Bayley then says she can adapt and she built Damage CTRL and she will do everything to break them.

Peter Rosenberg is then shown in the front row now. We then go to Tom Rinaldi, who mentions The Rock and Muhammad Ali as well as their connection through Neil Liefer.

We then see Byron Saxton outside of Cody Rhodes’ bus. Saxton says Rhodes told him he is cleared to wrestle tonight. Saxton also says Rhodes told him he is battered and bruised, but this match is the card that he has been dealt and he will not fold.

Jackie Redmond and Wade Barrett then join the panel as replacements for Michael Cole and Corey Graves.

We then see highlights from the WWE Intercontinental Championship Match from WrestleMania XL Saturday, where Zayn was being annihilated in front of his wife, only to come back and dethrone the longest-reigning champion “The Ring General” GUNTHER.

The panel then discusses tonight’s main event and Kayla Braxton is shown outside The Bloodline’s locker room. Braxton also discusses the main event and says there will be a lot in interference in the Bloodline Rules Match.

Jackie Redmond then sends us to a trailer for the special WrestleMania XL: Behind The Curtain documentary, which is set to premiere this Wednesday, April 10th on WWE’s YouTube channel and we get a video package for Drew McIntyre.

We then see footage of Seth “Freakin” Rollins training with Lane Johnson earlier this week and Cody Field then joins the Kickoff Pre-Show panel.

We then see Peter Rosenberg walking in the back and he is joined by Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says Chelsea Green stole his Slammy and he wanted her arrested. McIntyre then says he wanted people to really remember what the world was like four years ago and everything he did. McIntyre then says he is looking forward to lifting the World Heavyweight Championship in front of Punk’s stupid face. McIntyre then walks away and Rosenberg sees Chad Gable and Otis.

We then get highlights of Rhea Ripley’s win over Becky Lynch on last night’s show.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL then replaces CM Punk at the panel and they talk about the Philadelphia 6-Man Tag Team Street Fight.

Byron Saxton is then shown with The Street Profits, “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley and B-Fab. Saxton asks about tonight’s street fight and how have they been preparing. Lashley says they have been taken to the dark side and they are going to shut the Final Testament up but they have bigger fish to fry. B-Fab then says what better way to end this than in a Philly Street Fight. Ford then says they have chosen to be the bigger people and turn a cheek, but bot tonight because there is one thing they choose tonight and that is violence. Dawkins then says they will be standing on business. Lashley then says there is no more time to talk.

Cathy Kelley is then shown interviewing the Final Testament. Kross says Lashley and his crew don’t have a plan because game plans are for cowards. Kross then says we will find out what happens when they take things to the extreme.

We then head back to the panel and they talk about the Philadelphia Street Fight for a moment and then they send us to Peter Rosenberg, who is standing backstage with Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. Rosenberg asks Fluffy about the main event of WrestleMania XL Saturday and he gives his thoughts. Fluffy then jokes about how cold it was and how The Rock was pouring water on himself and must have been freezing. Rosenberg then asks Fluffy to give his official prediction for tonight’s main event. Fluffy says tonight is the night Cody Rhodes will finally finish his story.

We then see AJ Styles and LA Knight arriving in the arena earlier today and we then get a video package.

We then get a video package of the Bloodline Rules main event matchup and the final panel discussion. CM Punk then makes his way down to the ring and joins Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Pat McAfee on commentary for the opening matchup between Drew. McIntyre and World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins as the WrestleMania 40 Sunday Kickoff Pre-Show comes to a close.

WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday Results (4/7/2024):

WrestleMania 40 Sunday opens up with a video package featuring Philadelphia hip-hop star Meek Mill. Michael Cole then welcomes us to the show and we see Drew McIntyre and Seth “Freakin’” Rollins getting ready to come out for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match.

Samantha Irvin then introduces The War And Treaty and they perform “God Bless America.”

Stephanie McMahon then makes her way down to the ring and talks about about how special this year’s WrestleMania is. McMahon then says WrestleMania 40 is the one she’s most proud of as it is the first WrestleMania of the Paul “Triple H” Levesque era. McMahon then asks the Philadelphia crowd “Are You Ready?” and welcomes us to Night 2 of WrestleMania 40.

We then get the entrances of the opening match of the night, which is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match (CM Punk Will Be On Commentary): Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre

The match starts off with McIntyre hitting Rollins with a Claymore, but Rollins kicks out at 2.9. McIntyre then goes for another Claymore, but Rollins rolls out of the ring. McIntyre then follows Rollins and hits him with a chop block. McIntyre then sends Rollins flying with an overhead throw out on the floor. Rollins then gets to his feet and McIntyre hits him with another overhead throw. McIntyre then goes for the future shock DDT in front of Punk, but Rollins reverses it into a Pedigree. Rollins then sends McIntyre back into the ring and hits him with a Stomp. McIntyre then kicks out and both men now trade strikes.

McIntyre then hits Rollins with a neck breaker and kips up. McIntyre then calls for the Claymore, but Rollins reverses the Claymore into a powerbomb. Rollins then hits McIntyre with the Pedigree followed by a Stomp, but McIntyre kicks out. Rollins then goes for a super Stomp, but McIntyre moves out of the way. Rollins’ knee then buckles and McIntyre hits Rollins with the future shock DDT, but Rollins kicks out. McIntyre then does CM Punk’s GTS taunt and goes for the GTS, but Rollins reverses it into a small package and McIntyre kicks out.

McIntyre then hits Rollins with the Claymore once again and Rollins kicks out. After clearing off the commentary desk, McIntyre stares Punk down. Rollins then escapes McIntyre’s powerbomb attempt on the commentary desk. Rollins then hits the Stomp on McIntyre on the commentary desk. Rollins then sends McIntyre back into the ring. McIntyre then hits Rollins with another Claymore and Rollins kicks out again. McIntyre is shocked and hits yet another Claymore on Rollins and gets the win.

The winner and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Drew McIntyre!

After the match, McIntyre celebrates his win and Rollins shows some respect to the new champion. McIntyre then hands the WWE World Heavyweight Title to his wife and they embrace. McIntyre then sees CM Punk at the commentary desk. McIntyre then stands on the desk and trash talks Punk. Punk then sweeps McIntyre’s leg. Punk then takes off his brace and hits McIntyre with it. Punk then stomps on McIntyre. Damian Priest’s music then hits and Priest hits McIntyre with his MITB briefcase. Priest then tells the referee that he is cashing in.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. “Señor Money In The Bank” Damian Priest

The match starts off with Priest sending McIntyre into the ring. Priest then hits McIntyre with his South of Heaven choke slam and he gets the 1-2-3.

The winner and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest!

After the match, Priest walks up to the ramp way to the Judgment Day and celebrates with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg is then introduced as a guest commentator for the next match, while WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley is introduced as the special guest referee for the Philadelphia Street Fight.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the Philadelphia 6-Man Tag Team Street Fight.

Philadelphia 6-Man Tag Team Street Fight: The Pride (“The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits) vs. The Final Testament (Karrion Kross and AOP)

The match starts off with all 6 men brawling. The ring clears and The Street Profits pull a table at ringside. Rezar then sends Dawkins into the ring steps. Akam then runs over Ford. AOP and Kross then surround Lashley with kendo sticks. Lashley then gets beatdown with the kendo sticks. Kross then hits Lashley with a neckbreaker on a chair. Dawkins then breaks up the pin and gets destroyed with kendo sticks. Ford then jumps off the top rope and gets hit with a kendo stick from Kross. AOP then hit the Super Collider on Ford and Dawkins. B-Fab then breaks up the pin with a kendo stick. Scarlett then hits B-Fab with a trashcan. Scarlett then sends B-Fab out of the ring.

AOP then goes for another Super Collider, but Lashley breaks it up. Dawkins then runs over Akam and Rezar. Ford then jumps over the top rope onto Rezar and Akam. B-Fab then hits a boot to Scarlett on her face. Scarlett then suplexes B-Fab through a table. Kross then hits the Doomsday Saito on Lashley, but Lashley kicks out. Kross then gets in Bubba’s face. Bubba then puts on his Dudley Boys glasses. Lashley then Spears Kross. Bubba then directs traffic while Dawkins hits Wassup. Bubba then tells them to get the tables. Kross is then laid on a table, but it breaks. Dawkins then grabs another table. Ford then hits a Frog Splash on Kross through the table and Lashley pins Kross.

We then head to the back, where we see WWE United States Champion Logan Paul doing pushups.

We then get a video package recapping last night’s main event and a special look at the Bloodline/ Cody Rhodes rivalry.

Kayla Braxton is then shown interviewing Paul Heyman. Braxton asks Heyman what the Bloodline Rules Match entails. Heyman mocks Braxton and says it meant whatever they wanted it to mean. Heyman then says the match will only end when one man walks out the winner and the other man goes home to his wife Brandi.

LA Knight then arrives in a Slim Jim car and makes his way down to the ring for the next match. AJ Styles makes his way down to the ring next.

Singles Match: “The Mega Star” LA Knight vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles

The match starts off with Knight and Styles trading strikes. Knight then sends Styles out of the ring. Knight then hits Styles with a rope dive dropkick. Knight then repeatedly slams Styles’ head into the commentary desk. Knight then sends Styles back into the ring. Styles then attacks Knight as soon as he rolls back into the ring. Knight then tries to respond, but Styles kicks his leg out from under him. Styles then works over Knight’s knee. Styles then hits Knight with a wheelbarrow facebuster, but Knight kicks out. Styles then goes up top, but Knight cuts him off and goes for a back suplex. Styles then rakes Knight’s eyes, causing Knight to fall back down to the mat. Knight then jumps back up top and hits a German suplex on Styles, but Styles kicks out. Styles then puts Knight in his Calf Crusher submission.

Knight then gets to the ropes. Styles then slams Knight’s knee into the ring post and the referee checks on Knight. Styles then hits a dropkick to Knight’s knee into the ring post. Knight then pulls Styles into the ring post. Knight then pulls up the protective padding at ringside. Styles then reverses Knight’s piledriver into a back body drop on the exposed concrete. Styles then rolls back into the ring and tells the referee to count. Knight breaks the count at 9.9. Styles then goes for a springboard 450, but Knight gets his knees up. Both men then trade strikes. Styles then hits Knight with a Pelé kick, but Knight avoids the Phenomenal Forearm. Styles then almost hits the Styles Clash, but Knight kicks his way out of it. Styles then misses another Phenomenal Forearm and Knight hits Styles with the BFT for the win.

We then get a video announcing the next Saudi Arabia event.

We then get a video recapping the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony from Friday night.

The 2024 WWE Hall of Fame class then makes their way out.

We then get a video package for the next match, which is the WWE United States Championship Triple Threat Match followed by the entrance of WWE United States Champion “The Maverick” Logan Paul.

We then head to the back, where Sami Zayn shows Kevin Owens his newly-won WWE Intercontinental Title. Zayn then tells Owens, “Your turn now!”

We then get the entrances of “The Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens and “The Viper” Randy Orton.

WWE United States Championship Triple Threat Match: “The Maverick” Logan Paul (c) vs. “The Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens vs. “The Viper” Randy Orton

The match starts off with Paul rolling out of the ring. Orton and Owens then chase Paul. Orton and Owens then take turns beating up Paul outside the ring. Orton then suplexes Paul on the commentary desk. Owens then asks if he can give it a try. Orton then gives Owens the go-ahead and Owens suplexes Paul on the table. Orton then hits another suplex on Paul on the desk. Orton and Owens then bring Paul back into the ring. Paul then pushes Owens into Orton. Owens then tells Orton that it was Paul. Orton and Owens then turn around and continue beating Paul. Both Orton and Owens then try to pin Paul at the same time. Orton and Owens then lock eyes. Owens then suggests they continue beating up Paul and fight later. Orton then agrees and immediately tries to RKO Owens, but Owens blocks it. Owens then asks Orton if they should fight now and Orton shrugs.

Orton and Owens then hit each other with rights and lefts. Paul then takes both men out with a double Money Clip. Owens then sends Paul and Orton into the corner. Owens then hits both men with a cannonball. Paul then manages to get his knees up while Owens goes for a swanton. Paul then hits Owens with a swanton, rolls through and hits a frog splash on Orton for a near fall. Orton and Paul then trade strikes. Paul then hits Orton with a gut shot. Orton then sets Owens up for a draping DDT, but Paul breaks it up. Paul then goes for another Money Clip, but Orton reverses it into a powerslam. Orton then hits the draping DDT on Paul and Owens at the same time.

After a series of reversals, Owens then hits a powerslam off the top rope on Paul. Owens then hits the moonsault on Paul, but Paul kicks out. After another series of reversals, Orton then hits the RKO on Owens, but Owens kicks out. Paul then blasts Orton with his brass knuckles, but Orton kicks out. Paul then blasts Owens with the brass knuckles as well and Owens falls out to the floor. Paul then goes for another shot to Orton with the brass knuckles, but Orton ducks and hits an RKO on Paul. Orton then gets to his feet first and grabs Paul’s brass knuckles.

Orton then gives the brass knuckles to the referee and calls for the Punt Kick. The guy in the PRIME Bottle then pulls Paul out of the ring and Orton gets into a fight with the guy in the PRIME Bottle. Orton then hits an RKO on the PRIME Bottle guy on the commentary desk. Paul then pushes Orton into the ring steps. Owens then hits the Stunner on Orton, but Orton kicks out.

Owens then sends Orton into the ropes for a Pop up Powerbomb, but Orton reverses it into the RKO. Paul then sends Orton into the ring post, hits a frog splash on Owens and gets the win.

The winner and still the WWE United States Champion, “The Maverick” Logan Paul!

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the WWE Women’s Championship Match.

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY (c) vs. Bayley

The match starts off with Bayley hitting SKY with a shoulder block and SKY rolling out of the ring. SKY then gets back in the ring and hits a shoulder block on Bayley. Bayley then hits a dive on SKY, but SKY kicks out. Bayley then goes for her patented turnbuckle dropkick, but SKY blocks it and sends Bayley’s leg into the ring post. SKY then attacks Bayley’s previously injured knee. Bayley then rolls out of the ring and SKY goes for an Asai moonsault. Bayley then trips SKY on the apron and sends SKY into the timekeeper’s area. SKY then hits an elbow to Bayley on her face.

SKY then jumps off the barricade and gets hit with a Bayley-to-Belly. Bayley then sends SKY back into the ring and hits her with a spinning backbreaker. Bayley then goes up top, but SKY trips her. Bayley’s leg then gets caught in the turnbuckle and SKY dropkicks Bayley, sending her to the floor. SKY then hits a triangle moonsault on Bayley, but Bayley kicks out. SKY then hits Bayley with two German suplexes for a near fall. SKY then goes for the Over the Moonsault, but Bayley gets her boot up. Bayley then goes for a diving elbow drop, but SKY reverses it into a crossface. Bayley then escapes and gets put in the crossface again. SKY then transitions it into an STF and Bayley elbows her way out of it.

SKY then gets hit with a Bayley-to-Belly, but she kicks out. Bayley then goes for the Rose Plant, but SKY blocks it and tells Bayley she is sorry. SKY then nails Bayley with a right hand. Bayley and SKY then trade strikes. SKY then hits Bayley with a butterfly backbreaker. SKY then hits Bayley with the Over the Moonsault, but Bayley kicks out. SKY then hits Bayley with a Moonsault off the second rope. SKY then tries to hit the same move from the top rope, but Bayley moves. Bayley then goes for the Rose Plant. SKY then hits Bayley with a front flip and laughs at Bayley. Bayley then nails SKY with a lariat. Bayley then hits SKY with a diving elbow drop and follows that up with the Rose Plant for the win.

Michael Che, The War And Treaty, T-Pain, George Kittle, Vanessa Hudgens and Lilly Singh were all shown at ringside.

The Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders were then in the ring with WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg who announced an attendance of 72,755 fans and pyro would go off.

We then get a video package of the main event.

The match starts off with Reigns getting in Rhodes’ face, but Rhodes doesn’t flinch. Reigns then laughs at Rhodes. Reigns then hits Rhodes with a shoulder check. Heyman then hypes Reigns up. Rhodes then hits Reigns with an uppercut and sends Reigns out of the ring. Rhodes then grabs a table from under the ring. Reigns then hits Rhodes with the drive-by before Rhodes can get back in the ring. Reigns then slides the table back under the ring and says no. Rhodes then avoids Reigns and sends him into the ring steps. Rhodes then tries to send Reigns back into the ring. Reigns then hits Rhodes with a kendo stick. Reigns then repeatedly hits Rhodes with the kendo stick. Rhodes then puts Reigns in the figure four and Reigns rakes Rhodes’ eyes to break the hold. Reigns then works over Rhodes. Rhodes and Reigns then fight into the crowd. Reigns then tries to suplex Rhodes on a platform, but Rhodes reverses it and hits a suplex of his own.

Reigns then counters a disaster kick attempt from Rhodes with a sky-high powerbomb. Reigns then continues his beatdown on Rhodes. Reigns then hits the ropes and runs into a superkick from Rhodes. Reigns then hits Rhodes with a big boot. Reigns and Rhodes then trade strikes. Both men then hit double clotheslines on each other and they are both down. Reigns then gets to his feet first and both men exchange strikes. Rhodes then hits Reigns with a powerslam followed up with a disaster kick, but Reigns kicks out.

Rhodes then goes for the Cody Cutter, but Reigns catches Rhodes and hits Cody Rhodes’ finisher on him, but Rhodes kicks out. Reigns then jokes that Rhodes’ move sucks and Rhodes has never beaten anyone with it. Rhodes then ducks the Superman Punch from Reigns and hits him with jabs followed by a bionic elbow. Reigns then rolls out of the ring. Rhodes then follows Reigns and clears the commentary desk. Reigns then hits a low blow on Rhodes. Reigns then powerbombs Rhodes through the commentary desk. Reigns then hits a Superman Punch on Rhodes, but Rhodes kicks out.

Reigns then goes for the Spear, but Rhodes hits the boots on Reigns in his face and hits the Cody Cutter. Reigns then kicks out and fights his way out of Crossroads. Reigns then goes for a Rock Bottom, but Rhodes counters with a hip toss. Rhodes then hits Reigns with a Spear, but Reigns kicks out. Rhodes then hits the Crossroads on Reigns and goes for another, but Jimmy Uso appears out of nowhere and superkicks Rhodes. Reigns then hits a Superman Punch on Rhodes. Jey Uso then runs down the ramp and brawls with Jimmy. Jey then Spears Jimmy off the stage through a table. Reigns then Spears Rhodes, but Rhodes kicks out. Reigns then puts Rhodes in the guillotine. Rhodes then forces Reigns out of the ring, breaking the hold. Rhodes then Spears Reigns through the barricade.

Rhodes then sends Reigns back into the ring. Rhodes then hits a number of Crossroads on Reigns, but Solo Sikoa appears and hits the Samoan Spike on Rhodes. Sikoa then pulls Reigns on top of Rhodes, but Rhodes kicks out. Sikoa and Reigns then hit the Spear/Samoan Spike combo on Rhodes, but Rhodes still kicks out. John Cena’s music then hits and Cena runs down to the ring and attacks Sikoa. Cena clotheslines Sikoa over the top rope and hits the AA on Sikoa through the announce table. The Rock’s music then hits and The Rock makes his way down to the ring. Cena and The Rock then stare each other down. Cena then takes off his shirt and gets ready to throw down.

Cena then tells Rock he can’t see him. The Rock then hits a Rock Bottom on Cena. The Shield’s music then hits and Rollins makes his way down to the ring with his old Shield gear. Reigns then takes Rollins out with a Superman Punch. The lights then go out and a gong rings out through the arena. The Undertaker then appears behind The Rock. The Rock then turns around and gets chokeslammed by The Phenom. The lights then go out again and The Rock and The Undertaker disappear. Reigns then grabs a chair, but instead of hitting Rhodes, he hits Rollins in the back. Rhodes then kicks Reigns in the head to block a Spear. Rhodes then hits two Crossroads on Reigns and gets the 1-2-3.

The winner and new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes!

After the match, the Undisputed WWE Universal Title is handed Cody Rhodes. The Rock then looks furious at Reigns. Rhodes is then overcome by emotion as he poses with the title for the fans. Kevin Owens, LA Knight, John Cena, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Brandi Rhodes then celebrate in the ring with Cody. CM Punk then makes his way down to the ring to raise Rhodes’ hand. Cody’s mother then gets in the ring and hugs Cody. Cody then hands his mother the title and she poses with the title.

Cody then grabs a microphone and asks Bruce Prichard and Paul “Triple H” Levesque to join him in the ring. Prichard and Levesque then make their way down to the ring. Prichard then hugs Rhodes and Levesque shakes Rhodes’ hand and hugs him. Triple H then raises Rhodes’ hand. Cody then gets out of the ring and hugs Michael Cole. Cody then shakes Corey Graves and Pat McAfee’s hands. Cody then shakes Seth Rollins’ hand and thanks him for helping him. Cody then shakes Nick Khan’s hand. We then get a video recap of WrestleMania 40 Sunday and the show comes to a close.
