A while back, WWE earned a reputation for its knack for springing sudden talent releases, sending ripples of anxiety through its roster. Although the frequency of these cuts has tapered off somewhat, they still occur, as underscored by the recent slew of departures. Sadly, it seems Cameron Grimes has found himself among those let go by WWE.

Just last week, disappointment descended upon many WWE fans as the company made the tough decision to release several stars in its latest round of cuts. Among the affected were Xyon QuinnJinder Mahal, and just yesterday, news broke that Von Wagner had also been shown the door.

Cameron Grimes took to Twitter to share the news, uploading a heartfelt video revealing his release from WWE:

“This is Trevor Lee, also known as Cameron Grimes. I just got off the phone with WWE. Unfortunately, I have been released from my contract. Five years ago, the last thing I was able to tell my father was that I signed with WWE. I loved working here. I wanna thank absolutely everybody who’s helped me. Even though you guys haven’t seen me in the past year, I’ve been trying my best to learn from everybody that would just sit and listen.”

‘If you’re a fan of mine, I’m letting you know there’s a fire lit under my ass, man. All I want to do is work. This is all I got, man. But hey, the good news is, there ain’t gonna be no stopping Trevor Lee, baby. I love you guys, I love you. We’re gonna figure this out. This isn’t what I wanted to do at all. WWE is all I’ve ever wanted to do, but if I have to go somewhere else to show them that they missed out, I guess that’s what I gotta do.”

WWE has seemingly adopted a new approach in handling these recent releases compared to their previous practices. The future holds uncertainty regarding Cameron Grimes’ next steps.
