With AEW Big Business on the horizon, the hottest topic for the AEW Dynamite event is the potential debut of former WWE superstar Mercedes Mone. The former WWE Women’s Champion has finally recovered from her ankle injury and is expected to make her AEW debut on March 13 at the Big Business pay-per-view.

Mone injured herself during an NJPW tournament to crown the inaugural Strong Women’s Champion back in May 2023. Since then, the star has made a few appearances on different promotions leaving the world talking about the company she chooses following her return.

In a recent appearance on the Kick Rocks Wrestling Podcast, Mone addressed her injury and the physical and mental pressure it put on her to get back into the squared circle. The former IWGP Women’s Champion revealed that doctors and surgeons stated that her injury was a career-ending one.

However, the former WWE superstar screamed at them vowing that she would make a return to the ring and have the best matches and time of her whole career.

“I’ve been posting my training videos. I’ve been training really really hard with Tyler Breeze at Flatbacks and Shawn Spears. Shout out to Hybrid School with [Sho] Funaki in San Antonio, and New Japan Dojo in LA. I’ve been working so hard to get back to this place that I love.”

Because little do people know, I was told that this is a career ending injury. And I screamed at my doctor and surgeon. I said, ‘No, it’s not.’ I’m going to come back really soon and I’m going to have just the greatest time, the greatest matches, the greatest career that I’ve had yet, because I see it and I feel it, I know it.”

Mercedes Mone’s revelation has left the world stunned. Having fought back from a career-ending injury has to take a lot of hard work. However, given the extent of her injury was way more than expected, her ankle could come up as a problem for her sometime in the future.
