Having accomplished all conceivable goals in NJPW, Kazuchika Okada is poised to depart from the promotion once his contract expires later this month. Even then, it appears the door is open for Okada to return to NJPW.

As reported earlier, Kazuchika Okada is set to become free agent at the end of January. The promotion has now officially confirmed that Okada will be parting ways with the company after this month.

While speaking on his Q&A episode behind Fightful’s paywall, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Kazuchika Okada’s exit from the company. Sapp noted he was told by sources in New Japan that Okada and NJPW left on amicable terms.

It was further added that NJPW has left the door open for Kazuchika Okada’s return to the company, should he ever want to as there is no ill will between the two parties.

”New Japan sources had heard that he made it clear he was leaving. They were telling us that the departure was an amicable one and the door likely always remained open, there doesn’t appear to be any ill will.”

Kazuchika Okada also explained why he decided to leave NJPW. The Rainmaker’s status for the Royal Rumble has been revealed as well. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Kazuchika Okada.
