Kazuchika Okada’s Free Agency Will Commence Sooner Than Expected

Kazuchika Okada is hailed as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time and it is not hard to see why. The multi-time IGWP Heavyweight Champion has competed in some of the best matches in recent memory. Okada is a NJPW legend but he will become a free agent next month.

The Rainmaker has been part of NJPW since 2007 and is hailed as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time for good reason. He has been the flagbearer of NJPW for so long that people can’t think of him without the promotion.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Kazuchika Okada will reportedly become a free agent at the end of January 2024. Naturally, this is a very big deal for the business.

”Kazuchika Okada is about to become a free agent, Sports Illustrated has learned. The face of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Okada’s current contract expires at the end of January.”

It was previously reported that WWE has their eye on Kazuchika Okada and there is chance WWE will end up snatching him up once he becomes a free agent, if AEW doesn’t give him a big enough offer. We will have to wait and see what will become of Okada in the end, as he still has a match against Bryan Danielson at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4, 2024.
