Andrade’s journey in AEW had promised to be a long and successful one. His original contract with the promotion was set for two years, but it was extended due to injury time, securing his presence until the end of 2024. This extension had led fans to believe that Andrade was committed to making a lasting impact in AEW’s roster. However, it appears that fate had different plans.

According to the Fightful Backstage report, the catalyst for Andrade’s sudden change in direction was a frustrating situation within AEW. Although discussions had taken place regarding a new contract, Andrade had not officially inked a deal with the promotion. Andrade then exercised his right to give notice, signaling his intent to leave AEW.

“Andrade looks to be headed to WWE. He told talent he was likely staying in AEW. That changed just days before AEW Worlds End. We were told there was a frustrating situation which lead to him effectively giving notice, saying “I’m leaving,” which was in his contractual right to do so, as he had not signed a new deal. I know one had been discussed but he did not sign one with AEW and was free to go after Worlds End.”

“His original deal with two years and it was extended due to injury time and he was signed thru until the end of 2024.”

One intriguing aspect of Andrade’s potential return to WWE is the involvement of his partner, Charlotte Flair. Sources close to the situation have indicated that Charlotte played significant role in pushing for Andrade’s return to the wrestling giant. Her influence, coupled with Andrade’s own desire to explore new opportunities, may have paved the way for this unexpected reunion.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Andrade had expressed a desire for Ric Flair, Charlotte’s father and wrestling legend, to join AEW.

“We were told Charlotte push for his return to WWE and Andrade actually pushed for Ric Flair to come into AEW.”

While sources have not yet confirmed Andrade’s return to WWE, the anticipation and excitement surrounding this potential move are undeniable. Wrestling fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation from both Andrade and WWE. Keep checking back with Ringside News as more information on Andrade’s status becomes available.
