Kazuchika Okada, having achieved significant success in NJPW, is set to part ways with the promotion after this month. Reports are now suggesting that WWE is considering Okada for a potential debut at WrestleMania 40.
According to Sports Illustrated, there is considerable interest from WWE, particularly from Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Although information from Okada’s camp was hard to obtain, sources close to NJPW have noted that Okada had expressed a longstanding desire to perform at WrestleMania.
Triple H is aware of this aspiration and has identified potential opponents, including AJ Styles and Finn Balor, both of whom have pre-existing relationships with Okada and could be ideal for his debut at WrestleMania 40.
”There is also significant interest from WWE, specifically from Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels, Sports Illustrated has confirmed. While it is difficult to procure information from Okada’s camp, multiple sources close to NJPW revealed that he has always wanted to perform at a WrestleMania. Levesque is aware of this and has the right opponents–specifically AJ Styles and Finn Balor–who have pre-existing relationships with Okada, and would both be perfect for Okada’s debut if he were to wrestle at WrestleMania 40.”
It was also reported that AEW has made the biggest first offer to Okada already. The likely reason for Kazuchika Okada’s NJPW exit was also revealed. Only time will tell whether Kazuchika Okada will debut in WWE this year, as that would certainly change the landscape of pro wrestling in a big way.
