Malakai Black has been part of the AEW family for well over two years now, but his singles career is genuinely non-existent now. A fan claimed the reason why he hasn’t had a singles match in so long was because he refused to lose and put talent over. Now, Black decided to hit back at the fan.

Malakai Black previously revealed that he had been dealing with a slight calf tear and knee hyperextension, which put him on the shelf for while. He returned back in October last year and has been competing as a team since then with his House of Black members.

As previously reported, Malakai Black has not competed in a singles match for the entire year of 2023. In fact, his last singles match was against Penta Oscuro in June 2022, something that puzzles fans.

A fan took to Twitter and commented on a post which pointed out how Black had no singles matches in 2023. The fan claimed this was because Malakai Black refused to lose and put talent over.

That’s what happens when you refuse to take a pin or put anyone over.”

Malakai Black saw the fan’s tweet and broke his social media hiatus. He called the fan a goofball and made it clear there was no truth to that accusation whatsoever. In a separate tweet, Black made it clear that was his only tweet for 2024.

Usually I don’t reply because these laughable takes from goofballs like this nerd is why this place is the equivalent of people opening their front doors and screaming their excrement laced opinions into the street, however: bullshit, never happened, isn’t a thing. Happy ny.

That’s my tweet for 2024, see you next year xo.”

There were signs that he was going to feud with Bryan Danielson, but none of that materialized into anything after Danielson’s injury. Regardless, only time will tell whether Malakai Black will finally have a singles match again.
