CM Punk’s first match in nearly decade went down at MSG on December 26th, and it was a sold out show. Triple H’s direction for the company is continually looking stronger all the time, and they don’t need Vince McMahon around.

Vince McMahon is no longer running WWE’s day-to-day operation. Triple H is the COO, and he’s thriving in that role. Under Triple H’s leadership, several stars returned, and that includes CM Punk.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Vince McMahon was not around for the Madison Square Garden show. This is not the way things used to be, but Vince McMahon obviously doesn’t have the same position he had a year ago.

For those asking, Vince McMahon was not at MSG for the WWE house show.

Vince McMahon never missed an important show, especially at Madison Square Garden. It appears that his retirement will continue, and he doesn’t have to make his way to events as much as he used to at all.

CM Punk’s return to WWE, and MSG provided an excellent location for that event to go down. Vince McMahon may not have been around for the live event, but he likely heard about the reports from the show, if he asked about it.

What’s your take on Vince McMahon’s new role away from WWE’s creative direction? Is that a better place for him? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
