WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg is a true veteran in professional wrestling, as he largely made a name for himself as part of D-Generation X in the 90s. Road Dogg is also an expert at managing backstage roles in the company. Interestingly enough, Road Dogg is set to take on more backstage responsibilities in WWE soon.

After his in-ring career ended, Road Dogg worked for WWE as a producer and eventually became the head writer of SmackDown. Road Dogg eventually had a behind-the-scenes role in NXT before WWE released him last year.

Road Dogg was eventually brought back last year as he took over Jeff Jarrett’s role as Senior Vice President of Live Events in the company. Road Dogg also has experience as a creative team member, lead writer and of course – a producer.

While speaking on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he will soon be taking up more responsibilities backstage in WWE, as there is a temporary void in leadership.

“I’m getting a little busier. There was a temporary void in leadership at television going forward a little bit, and it’s not a big deal but they just need somebody to sit in that chair, and I’ve sat in it before, so it’s gonna be fun to do again.”

Road Dogg made it clear he wanted commentary role before retiring. Thankfully, he got his wish last month as he filled in for Corey Graves on Friday Night SmackDown’s commentary team. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for the WWE Hall of Famer.
