CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, and Seth Rollins appeared to be enraged. It was later said that Rollins was looking for Punk backstage, but then it was reported that it was all an angle, so the WWE World Heavyweight Champion wasn’t really upset. That being said, there is a lot more going on with this situation.

Seth Rollins drew lot of attention when he called CM Punk a “cancer” as he told him to “stay away” from WWE in a candid interview. That was quite a viral moment, and one that still lives in hour brains.

It was said at the time that Seth Rollins spoke his “true feelings” when he called CM Punk “cancer.” Matt Hardy may have found that “cancer” comment about CM Punk hilarious, but now those words could translate into an actual program.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE was testing CM Punk with this Seth Rollins angle at Survivor Series. It appears that he passed the test, because everything carried on according to plan.

WWE ran an angle backstage with Seth Rollins trying to get at Punk. Rollins was asked months back about Punk coming back and said that we don’t need that cancer here. But later, he walked back on that, since anyone who follows wrestling history would have believed there was a chance, and probably a good one, that at some point he would be brought back after his AEW termination.

Seth Rollins also mentioned CM Punk at WWE live event after his big return to WWE. It appears that they are only working, but only time will tell where CM Punk’s first big angle lands.

Although CM Punk appeared to call out Dominik Mysterio, and Dirty Dom seems to be all about mixing it up with Punk, even bigger matches are on the horizon for CM Punk. Ringside News provided an exclusive update on the current state of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs CM Punk.
