MJF has been touted as one of the defining heels of the current generation of pro wrestlers and it is not hard to understand why. He had a Superman-like performance at AEW Full Gear, but he didn’t come off it unscathed as he got injured. Now it has been confirmed that MJF will not be undergoing surgery to heal his torn labrum.

As previously reported, MJF was legitimately injured after AEW Full Gear. It was noted that he suffered dislocated hip and his shoulder was banged up as well. In addition to that, MJF has been working through a torn labrum injury.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that MJF will not be undergoing surgery to heal his torn labrum as that would take him out of action for too long. Instead, he has opted to use cell therapy and rehab to get ready in time for Worlds End this month.

He won’t be getting surgery and is going to be working on stem cell therapy and rehab to get ready. Surgery would have put him out for a couple of months. Whether he will do a match between now and then is not known, but he believes he can do careful matches or smoke & mirror matches prior to the PPV.

Talent in wrestling working on torn labrums is not unusual, and he’s done it before. He suffered a torn labrum prior to his May 23, 2020, Double or Nothing PPV match with Jungle Boy and ended up with a breakthrough performance for both of them at the time. Although this tear is said to be worse than the 2020 tear.’

MJF’s backstage reputation in AEW is also under question. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether he will be ready in time for the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30th, where he will defend his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe.
