AEW Full Gear went down in the Kia Forum on Saturday, and it was quite a night for MJF. The Salt of the Earth and Jay White had the worst-rated main event in AEW pay-per-view history. He was also injured in the process.

MJF is getting some big headlines today. Not only did it break that there are no talks between him and WWE, but now he is also injured.

AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF had two matches on Saturday night at the AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per-view held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

Following the ROH Tag Team Title match on the pre-show, The Gunns launched an attack on MJF using a chair after their loss to MJF and Samoa Joe. This assault led to MJF being rushed to the hospital. Despite being on crutches, Adam Cole intervened to prevent Jay White from claiming the World Heavyweight Title by forfeit. He announced that he would take on White and defend the title himself.

During the match, MJF unexpectedly appeared and wrestled. The match concluded with MJF using the diamond ring to secure the victory. The decision to incorporate the storyline injury has faced criticism from fans.

Reports from Wrestle Purists indicated that MJF sustained a hip injury during the match, necessitating post-show treatment to pop it back into place. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the hip injury on Twitter. Additionally, MJF was reported to have suffered a shoulder injury. Fortunately, he is expected to continue appearing on television, but will refrain from entering the ring until he has fully recovered.

We’ll have to see how long it takes for MJF to make a return to the ring. He doesn’t wrestle very often at this point, but he does go hard, and sometimes works twice a night, when he does.
