Breakout WWE NXT Superstar Suffers First Loss At Live Event

WWE NXT has seen a resurgence since refocusing its brand as NXT 2.0, emphasizing a mix of athletes and established wrestlers rather than those with no wrestling experience. This revival has led to a new television deal with The CW Network in 2024, moving away from the USA Network.

One significant signing for NXT during this transition was Lexis King, also known as Brian Pillman Jr., who joined the promotion after leaving All Elite Wrestling earlier this year when his contract was not renewed. He is just getting started, and cementing himself as a name worth paying attention to.

In a recent episode of WWE NXT, during the main event segment, Trick Williams attempted to determine whether Carmelo Hayes was responsible for attacking him. Lexis King made an appearance, encouraging Trick to voice his suspicions, indicating that he believed Hayes was behind the attack. A confrontation ensued, with Trick punching Lexis, who then inadvertently struck Hayes. Trick proceeded to hug Hayes, while Carmelo wore an angry expression.

During an NXT live event in Lakeland, Florida, Lexis King faced Carmelo Hayes in a singles match and suffered his first loss in WWE. King’s NXT record now stands at 6-1, with one of those matches taking place on television.

Everyone experiences a loss in WWE eventually, so it’s good to get that out of the way. It appears that Lexis King is off to a good start in NXT, especially if the fact that he lost a match at a house show raises this kind of attention as a notable moment for his NXT career.
