Brock Lesnar lost his last match to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, and he put the American Nightmare over in a huge way before he left the ring. Raising Rhodes’ hand like Lesnar did was an improvised move, but there could have been more behind the intention.

WWE is always trying to bring fans unexpected moments, and that goes double for big names like Brock Lesnar. After all, they pay a lot of money for Lesnar’s services.

Ringside News exclusively reported after SummerSlam that Brock Lesnar is taking longer break from the ring, which included the Payback premium live event. We then followed that up by exclusively reporting that he won’t make the Crown Jewel event this time around, either.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Brock Lesnar will be back in WWE. That being said, WWE wanted fans to think that he may not be back after his last loss to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.

That was always the plan, you know when he left and there were people going, ‘was that his retirement?’ I was told [WWE] wanted it to seem like it, but he’s coming back.”

It was also noted that Crown Jewel “was never in the cards” for Brock Lesnar this year. He was slated to be out of action for the rest of the year.

It was then noted that Brock Lesnar will likely be back for the Royal Rumble to kick-start the road to WrestleMania 40. Lesnar will not be around for the rest of this year, but fans have certainly not forgotten about him. He is already on promotional material for WrestleMania 40.

WWE has a great thing with Brock Lesnar, because he understands the business. He also knows his value, and keeping himself as a special attraction is best for business all around.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
