Jey Uso left WWE, SmackDown, and the Bloodline but surprisingly resurfaced on RAW a few weeks later. Subsequently, a major announcement followed, stating that RAW would need to relinquish one of their Superstars upon Jey Uso’s return to the red brand.

Nick Aldis made his debut on WWE SmackDown this week as the new General Manager of the brand. Without delay, he swiftly made a significant announcement by introducing Kevin Owens as the latest SmackDown Superstar, who had been traded from RAW in exchange for Jey Uso.

Ringside News reached out to a tenured member of the creative team to ask about how long those plans for Kevin Owens on SmackDown. We were told that this has been the plan all along.

Kevin Owens “was the one we had in mind when the Jey Uso trade was announced.” Now, Owens is back on SmackDown, without Sami Zayn this time around. He will have to do his own thing, but he’s also used to that at this point.

We will have to see what Kevin Owens does next on SmackDown. He was inserted into a top storyline upon his return to the blue brand, so only time will tell what kind of action he gets into during this run.

Kevin Owens’ future contract status is a bit of a mystery as well. He recently stated that he doesn’t know what he will do when his deal is up in year and a half. If he does leave WWE, then he may wrap up his time as a SmackDown Superstar now.

What’s your take on Kevin Owens’ return to SmackDown? Was he the best trade that they could have made? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
