Triple H doesn’t show up on WWE television much anymore, but he is around every week. The Game is Chief Content Officer for the company, and he kicked off the second hour of SmackDown’s season premiere this week with a big announcement.

Adam Pearce was in the ring already as Triple H made his way out. Then The Game amped up the Tulsa crowd a bit. Then Triple H gave Adam Pearce a lot of praise for doing an incredible job as an authority figure on both RAW and SmackDown.

Then Triple H said Adam Pearce’s job is very difficult, and “it’s a job no one person should do alone.” Now, Pearce has a promotion, because he is now the General Manager of Monday Night RAW. Then Triple H introduced the new General Manager of SmackDown, but Dominik Mysterio interrupted them. This received a flood of boos as Dirty Dom was barely able to get his lines out.

Dominik Mysterio wasn’t happy that the Undisputed Tag Team Titles were being defended on SmackDown. Then Triple H told him that he was yelling at the wrong people, because he needed to talk to the General Manager of SmackDown, Nick Aldis.

Then Nick Aldis got in the ring, and he got right to work as General Manager. This announcement received a lukewarm reaction from the crowd, but only time will tell where it leads from here. Then Aldis told Dominik Mysterio that “I’m a big fan … of your dad,” and the crowd warmed up to him quickly.

Nick Aldis is a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and much like Adam Pearce, who is also a WWE producer and a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Aldis is now an on-screen authority figure. Much like Pearce, Aldis also never had a run in the ring for WWE.

We will have to see how this new addition to the SmackDown team works out. Obviously, fans will be excited about Nick Aldis’ on-screen debut, because this is just the beginning for him.
