Adam Cole suffered an ankle injury at AEW Grand Slam, which ended up shattering his knee in three different places. Naturally, this ended up ruining all plans for him in the future. That said, Kevin Owens showed support to Cole after Smackdown this week.

As seen on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Kevin Owens was traded to the blue brand in exchange for Jey Uso, as fans were certainly excited to see The Prizefighter back.

Following the conclusion of Friday Night Smackdown, Kevin Owens took part in a backstage interview. During the interview, he gave a shoutout to Adam Cole, who underwent surgery for his ankle.

”I have a friend named Adam who had a very serious surgery today, he’s at the hospital now recovering, just wanna say Adam, we love you, we’re with you & take care of yourself buddy.”

AEW is still reluctant to take Adam Cole off weekly television, which is why he has been featured in humorous skits with Roderick Strong lately. We’ll have to wait and see when Cole will be able to make his triumphant return to the squared circle.

What’s your view on what Kevin Owens said? Do you miss Adam Cole competing inside the squared circle? Sound off in the comments!
