This week’s episode of NXT defeated AEW Dynamite in terms of ratings by very large margin, which many fans didn’t find surprising. In fact, even Kevin Nash believes AEW will never be able to compete with WWE.

AEW was created in 2019 as an alternative to WWE and they have largely succeeded in that goal. Even then, there are many who still believe that AEW is actually proper competition to WWE.

While speaking on the Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash made it clear that he believes AEW will never be able to compete with WWE and explains why he believes so.

They’re so good at packages,” Nash said. “Like the Peacock thing they did on Cody … if they want to get you over, they can make it feel like a ’30 for 30′ ESPN special. They can almost make it feel like what this guy is doing is absolutely f*****g legitimate … They have that ability.

To me, it’s just like … AEW is the Staples Center. It’s a new arena, and it’s got all the bells and whistles, but all of a sudden, WWE just decides ‘We’re going to do our shows in the sphere. We’re just going to do our shows in the sphere now,” Nash continued. “That’s just the way it is.’ It’s always going to be that way. You’re never going to f*****g [compete with that], especially with 17 people in the staff.”

Perhaps it is time to go back to the drawing board for Tony Khan, as AEW Dynamite’s defeat at the hands of NXT is certainly a wake-up call for the company. We’ll have to see whether AEW will improve their product in the coming weeks.

What’s your view on what Kevin Nash said? Do you think AEW is suffering because of Tony Khan? Let us know in the comments!
