Ringside News reached out to a tenure member of creative to ask about this apparent CM Punk reference during WWE RAW. We were told that Shinsuke Nakamura is a heel now, and that could have played a big part in things.

It was said to us that, “maybe no one gives a sh*t how it’s taken, and it’s just letting Nakamura be a heel?” This was not a sign that CM Punk is coming back to WWE.

The origin of that move was also reiterated to us in our discussion. We were told, “the move is originally from Japan,” and it was KENTA’s move first, not CM Punk’s. KENTA also went on to comment on the move.

KENTA showed zero interest in wrestling CM Punk at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, so that match didn’t happen. The battle of GTS moves didn’t come to fruition, but now Shinsuke Nakamura has entered the equation.

A story started making the rounds last week that CM Punk wants to make return to WWE, and those close to the Second City Savior have said that there are currently talks between the two sides. The story gained lot of traction, but there is no certainty at all that he will return.

Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk wants fans to think that there is interest from WWE, because he wants to come back. Punk sent out feelers to gauge interest, but it was not reciprocated at this time.

Shinsuke Nakamura certainly got a lot of fans talking about him this week on WWE RAW after he nailed a GTS. As Ringside News exclusively reported, Seth Rollins is also receiving a ton of credit for this new chapter in Shinsuke Nakamura’s career, and CM Punk has nothing to do with it.
