Edge’s situation with WWE may not be at a state where his return is expected. Now, it appears that the company has distanced themselves from Adam Copeland in an official sense.

Speculation has arisen over Edge’s next move in professional wrestling after his WWE contract expired this month. He recently concluded his WWE deal with a victory over Sheamus on SmackDown in late August.

Edge denied a report that WWE had declined his contract request, fueling rumors of a potential move to AEW. He mentioned a contract extension offer from WWE in a Twitter video.

According to PW Insider, Edge is no longer listed on WWE’s internal talent roster, although WWE.com still lists him as an active performer. The WWE Hall of Famer is now officially no longer with the company.

Since news of Edge’s contract expiration surfaced, there has been speculation within WWE that he might join AEW, where he could reunite with his longtime friend and tag team partner, Christian Cage. That reunion could very well be possible.

It remains uncertain whether AEW has engaged in talks with Edge, and his future remains uncertain. It’s also possible that Edge may retire again or re-sign with WWE. After all, that is the current thought.

Ringside News exclusively reported that the speculation within WWE is still that Edge is AEW bound. That hasn’t changed from our previous exclusive report from a month ago.

Ringside News previously exclusively reported that there is an internal belief within WWE that Edge is going to AEW. A short time later, Sean Sapp reported that there is also belief within AEW that Tony Khan will ink Adam Copeland to a contract.

We will have to see what happens next. WWE fans were surprised to see Edge in the intro video before SmackDown last week. Then Ringside News exclusively reported the reasoning behind WWE placing Edge back into the opening SmackDown video package.
