IYO Sky Set To Defend WWE Women’s Title Against Asuka

WWE already booked couple interesting things for next week’s episode of SmackDown. That being said, they also booked a big Women’s Title match for SmackDown in two weeks, one that will see IYO Sky face a very dangerous challenger.

IYO Sky had a confrontation with Asuka this week on SmackDown. The former Women’s Champion wants her gold back, and the Empress of Tomorrow has a date in the ring with the Genius of the Skies.

WWE announced that IYO Sky will defend the SmackDown Women’s Title against Asuka on September 22nd’s episode of the blue brand. They will have some time to hype that match next week as well.

IYO Sky won the WWE Women’s Title at SummerSlam when she cashed in on Bianca Belair. The EST of WWE had actually just won that title from Asuka. So, it’s understandable why Asuka wants the title back so badly.

As we previously reported, John Cena was in India for the Superstar Spectacle this week, so he couldn’t be on SmackDown. He won’t miss next week’s episode, as he will be a guest on the Grayson Waller Effect. They also booked LA Knight vs The Miz for next week’s SmackDown.
