Booker T Highly Doubts CM Punk Will Ever Make WWE Return After Burning Bridges

CM Punk has never failed to burn bridges with almost every promotion he has worked with, especially with WWE. After all, he walked out on the company after the 2014 Royal Rumble and never looked back. With him being fired from AEW now, it appears Booker T highly doubts CM Punk will ever return to WWE.

CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing.

Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk made desperate attempt to return to WWE when he was part of the WWE Backstage show a few years ago. Other reports have suggested that he was interested in returning to WWE before returning to AEW earlier this year.

While speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed whether Punk could make his way back to Vince McMahon’s company. Booker T made it clear that he highly doubts CM Punk will ever return to WWE after burning bridges with the promotion.

“[Is CM Punk coming back?] No, I don’t think so at all. I don’t see that happening. Go back and look at some of CM Punk’s quotes about WWE over the last seven-eight years. Nothing, man, nothing nothing positive. And my think was I always said, you never know when you might want to cross that bridge again. You just never know. And to think that that might be the company you’re gonna stay at forever, that’s kinda like wishful thinking.

(…) So, you gotta be smart. And I just don’t think when CM Punk left WWE, I don’t think he was smart about it more than anything. Because I always feel like it’s rolled back. But I think CM Punk may have blown that bridge up.”

Ringside News also exclusively reported that CM Punk wants fans to believe WWE is an option for him. We’ll have to wait and see what will become of The Second City Saint in the end.
