Kelly’s decision appears to be influenced by personal factors, as he mentioned that his wife of 32 years expressed a desire not to be alone any longer. This heartfelt reason has played a significant role in shaping his choice to leave NJPW.

“My wife of 32 years said she doesn’t want to be alone anymore so that’s why I made the decision.”

The commentator has been an integral part of NJPW since 2015, contributing his distinct voice and insights to the promotion’s broadcasts. In addition to his NJPW responsibilities, Kelly recently secured a role as the lead announcer for AEW Collision.
