Baron Corbin has been an integral part of WWE for a decade, seizing every opportunity that came his way. Over the years, he has undergone numerous transformations and mastered the art of portraying a villain, ultimately flourishing as a solid heel. He is now back in NXT and it appears he couldn’t believe fans were cheering for him during the NXT Great American Bash Premium Live Event.

Baron Corbin was also a free agent after the WWE Draft and fans wondered what would become of him. Corbin then made his shocking return to NXT in May and immediately ambushed Carmelo Hayes.

It culminated in a match for the NXT Championship against Carmelo Hayes, where Corbin brought back his Lone Wolf gimmick. He then began a feud with Gable Steveson right after that.

It was then confirmed that Gable Steveson will be squaring off against Baron Corbin at the Great American Bash, in what will be his first-ever WWE match.

During the Great American Bash match, fans completely turned on Gable Steveson and booed him throughout the match, while they cheered for Baron Corbin, which was a very rare thing.

While speaking with Sportskeeda, Baron Corbin talked about the positive reactions he got from fans and made it clear that he was utterly shocked and that it was mind-blowing.

“Hopefully, I’ll be there for another month or two and get everything behind it because there’s a bunch of internet buzz around it. People are having fun with it. I got cheered in Austin at Great American Bash, which is wild and mind-blowing. So, it’s a great experience and a great opportunity to become who I want to be and finish my career that way.”

The match also ended in very divisive manner. It remains to be seen what NXT has planned for Baron Corbin in the coming weeks, as his feud with Gable Steveson might not be over just yet.
