WWE has documented Cody Rhodes path ever since his return at WrestleMania, where he was a surprise opponent for Seth Rollins. The American Nightmare has referenced that documentary several times, and how it took a turn due to his injury. Now, that documentary is finally seeing the light of day.

“American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes” is set to premiere on Monday, July 31, exclusively on Peacock. The documentary, which tells the story of Cody Rhodes’ journey, is narrated by actor Stephen Amell, a close friend of Rhodes.

The film boasts an impressive list of executive producers, including WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, WWE Executive Producer & Chief of Global Television Distribution Kevin Dunn, Executive Vice President of WWE Television Chris Kaiser, WWE Vice President of Television Strategy Chris Chambers, WWE Senior Vice President & Executive Producer of Documentaries Ben Houser, and Cody himself. The trailer reveals that McMahon personally visited Rhodes at his home in an attempt to convince him to return to WWE.

Featuring appearances by WWE Superstars and Hall of Famers, including The Undertaker and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, as well as members of the Rhodes family such as Brandi Rhodes, the documentary promises an intimate and unfiltered look into Cody’s life and career. Cody emphasized in the trailer that he wanted the footage to remain unedited, ensuring an authentic portrayal of his experiences.
