WWE has tried several things throughout the years to snag attention, especially in key demographics. They realize that the Attitude Era included a certain edge that they’re lacking now, but it seems that the door is open to bring some of that back.

Endeavor’s merger of WWE and the UFC under the new TKO Group Holdings hasn’t changed RAW or SmackDown’s presentation yet. That being said, RAW’s third hour still holds a lot of possibilities.

WWE experimented in the past with ideas for RAW’s third hour, including edgier content, lowered house lights, and RAW Underground. None of that stuck around, and RAW Underground was squashed because of pandemic concerns.

Brandon Thurston tweeted out that Nick Khan said something very interesting at the JPMorgan TMT event. It was stated that WWE is interested in taking some chances with RAW’s third hour once again.

Nick Khan at JPMorgan TMT now: “Raw is 3 hours. We don’t anticipate that changing.” They’re in discussions about what to do with the 10-11pm hour, whether to make it more “adult”.

We will have to see how this pans out. RAW’s third hour has been both a blessing a curse for fans. Not only does it keep fans up longer, but it also gives WWE an additional hour after prime-time to produce some edgier content.

Keep checking back with Ringside News as we continue monitoring this ongoing situation. It seems that WWE is open for business, even when it comes to content that might fall out of the usual TV-PG format.

What’s your take on WWE moving closer to adult content? Sound off in the comments!
