AEW is going full steam ahead with their Warner Bros Discovery partnership. It seems that the company really likes Tony Khan’s brand, and they’re getting another show on television. That will apparently come with a huge match attached.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, AEW is planning to host a huge match on Collision, with CM Punk being the main attraction on the show. It is believed that Chris Jericho will be his opponent for this big match as well.

It wasn’t noted when CM Punk vs Chris Jericho will go down, but the new Saturday show will apparently debut in mid-June.

AEW Collision is set to debut in mid-June, and will feature a huge name in CM Punk, but that’s hardly it. We’re told there are already major plans and a marquee match tentatively scheduled for the Collision show, with CM Punk pushing for a huge match early on in his return. There has been a Chris Jericho program discussed, but Punk had pushed for another return opponent out of the gate.

Chris Jericho was in on the meetings that CM Punk had with Tony Khan. FTR were also at the meetings, and it was speculated that the topic was breached about Punk and Jericho working together in the future.

The report also noted that their new Collision show, “is a good deal for AEW, an impending announcement of Collision, and CM Punk’s planned return. We’ve not been able to confirm the rumored dollar figure or an all-encompassing deal.”

There are already several Saturday dates set to film AEW Collision, but we’re told that when necessary, the company may book a venue two straight days and film on Thursdays.

It is also worth noting that there has been no word on “keeping Punk and the Elite apart, but sources indicated that both sets of talent would occasionally appear on Dynamite and Collision when it’s called for.”

We will have to see how AEW handles this situation. In the end, bringing someone like CM Punk back to the company could be a very sketchy situation. He is a powder keg, and you never know what he will do next, obviously. Still, he will do big business for AEW.
