WWE uses their television shows to reach millions of fans each week. Their networks realize how valuable that property is, which is why they drop such huge money to air Vince McMahon’s product. Now, we are entering into yet another time of uncertainty about the company’s future.

We previously reported that it was Endeavor’s request that Vince McMahon stay with WWE through the UFC merger. McMahon returned to WWE in order to help usher in a sale and television rights talks.

While speaking to Lightshed Partners, AEW CEO Nick Khan was asked about the company’s upcoming media rights talks. WWE is entering into the window where they will start their discussions with NBC and Fox to retain the rights for RAW and SmackDown respectively.

Nick Khan made it clear that WWE hopes to stay with NBC and Fox, because they are fantastic partners. That being said, there are other options out there, especially for a company like WWE.

Love our relationship with NBCU. We’re entering into the exclusive negotiating window with them now. In terms of Fox, the Fox platform, their broadcast channel has been tremendous in terms of WWE growth, so we always look at our incumbent partners first, obviously we want the best sized deal possible, they want to manage those costs, and we hope to work out a deal with NBC and Fox. If we get out of that window, we think the marketplace is gonna be robust.

WWE could shake things up in a big way if they decide to move on from NBC and Fox. Those are two heavy-hitters in the broadcast game, but the landscape is always changing as big players are making their moves with massive money deals.

What’s your take on WWE sticking with Fox and NBC? Do you want them to move somewhere else? Sound off in the comments!
