WWE has a lot of things on the horizon, and company sale could happen within a matter of months. As time goes on, it seems that more perspective buyers are backing out of the idea, with Endeavor being the latest to say they are not looking to take on more debt.

Tony Khan is also a name that has come up a couple of times in conversation regarding WWE sales talks. Tony Khan has also said in the past that he would like to be involved in those discussions.

The thought of Tony Khan buying WWE is a rather interesting one, and many fans have had fun with memes and other jokes. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up this idea, and he also shed some light on where we currently stand with this possibility.

“(Tony Khan) has expressed interest, but for him to get it, he’d have to take in a lot of partners to get it. Which is not out of the realms of possibility – they could put together a giant deal.

“But aside from that – the Saudis and the Khan family – nobody else has publicly expressed interest in buying it, and the price is… in theory the price is very high, they threw that $9 billion figure out.

“Unless the Saudis have pretty much agreed to go with 9 billion, which is a very highly inflated figure that I don’t think anybody else would meet, then that’s probably where it’s gonna go.

$9 billion is a lot of money, and some might argue that it is more than WWE is worth right now. The Saudi Arabians still might be able to come up with that huge payday, and not bat an eye.

Only time will tell how the pro wrestling landscape looks in a year from now. The original timeline for Vince McMahon selling WWE put the deal closing in the middle of 2023. In the meantime, keep it tuned with us here at Ringside News.
