Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler got back together on WWE SmackDown a while back and have been having fun as heels since then. Their bond began before they joined the WWE, in the world of MMA, and their recent actions show that they are ready to take over the women’s division. They might end up with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, but it’s nothing they are necessarily chasing.
In the women’s tag team division, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey are a seemingly unbeatable team. Whether it is hurting rivals or winning matches, the two members of the MMA Four Horsewomen are a force to be reckoned with.
On February 17th, 2023, episode of the blue brand, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler fought Natalya & Shotzi Blackheart together. The Montreal audience repeatedly chanted “you can’t wrestle” at the heels during the contest. Ronda used an armbar to force Shotzi to submit, giving her team victory and not caring about what the fans thought of their skills. With Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler looking like the most dangerous force in the women’s division, many have speculated that they are eyeing the WWE Women’s tag team titles now.
Shayna Baszler recently spoke about her team with Ronda Rousey, and she shed some light on a possible WWE Women’s Tag Team Title run. Baszler was recently questioned by WWE Die Woche if she and Ronda Rousey plan to compete for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. The Queen of Spades had quite a reply.
“If that opportunity presents itself, it’s definitely not something we’re going to say no to. Especially once Ronda dropped the title [WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship] recently to Charlotte, we had a talk, and it’s not about the title or titles, we are out to remind people…it seems like people have forgotten just who Ronda and I are. We’re here to remind them. The title opportunities will come if we’re ourselves and we’re not taking any crap from anyone. I wouldn’t say it’s something we’re chasing necessarily, but it’s definitely something we see down the road.”
As far as the tag team scene is concerned, reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions Damage CTRL are set to defend the belts against Becky Lynch & Lita on this Monday’s RAW. We will have to wait and see if Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler do figure into the plans of being in the tag team title picture on the road to WrestleMania 39.
