CM Punk caused a lot of attention when he let loose during the AEW All Out media scrum. He buried the Young Bucks and Hangman Page while bringing up a lot of dirt about Colt Cabana. The subsequent brawl afterwards did not help matters either. In fact, Punk allegedly convinced Tony Khan to put him over in an AEW World Title match.

Last year, the Second City Saint essentially buried Adam Page on live television. CM Punk’s promo on Adam Page was not part of the plans and was shoot. In fact, Punk even got heat on himself due to the promo.

In fact, CM Punk ended up defeating Adam Page at the AEW Double Or Nothing for the AEW World Championship. This was seen as a very strange move as far as the booking was concerned.

A statement from the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online’s Ryan Frederick has been making waves lately. It was claimed that CM Punk allegedly convinced Tony Khan to put him over in the title match against Adam Page.

“Hangman was going to beat Punk at DoN until the worker’s rights promo, Punk got it changed and Tony literally sat on the porch of Punk’s house in LA booking out the summer with Hangman not anywhere close to being in the mix because Punk wasn’t going to work with him. No way they were going back to him at any point.”

CM Punk and The Elite have not mended fences while he remains on the shelf after suffering triceps injury. CM Punk could also return to AEW within the next couple of months. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see what will become of CM Punk in the end.
