AEW is known to feature tributes in their programming to pro wrestling’s past. This includes paying homage to some of those people who are no longer with us, but that recently caused an issue for Konnan.

We previously covered how Konnan didn’t like Konosuke Takeshita doing a frog splash in El Paso as an Eddie Guerrero tribute. He was quite blunt on his Keeping It 100 podcast on the matter.

“Well Takeshita… he’s got heat with me, and he’s lucky I wasn’t in El Paso. Because when he went up, and he did the f*cking Eddie Guerrero thing for the frog splash, you’re not Mexican dude, I don’t care… Stick to your nationality,”

Miro heard about what Konnan said, and he didn’t seem to appreciate the commentary. The AEW star tweeted out to defend Takeshita in his Eddie Guerrero tribute.

I bet you all that konnan, or whatever his name was , can’t last 10 sec with @Takesoup

The fact is that Eddie Guerrero meant a lot to many people around the world, regardless of where they are from. Latino Heat connected with a lot more than just the Latino community, but it is also understandable that someone like Konnan would want to protect Eddie Guerrero’s legacy.
