WWE recently changed a segment for their upcoming RAW 30th-anniversary special show next week, as they announced ‘Trial of Sami Zayn’ segment for the show. The change stems from the events on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. Now it seems The Rock’s WrestleMania 39 status didn’t play into WWE changing the segment with The Bloodline.

For very long time now, fans have been wondering when Roman Reigns and The Rock will battle each other at WrestleMania. Clearly, WWE has plans for both of them, and fans continue to be excited at the prospect of the match finally taking place.

Last year, Roman Reigns even called out The Rock during WWE live event. In fact, The Rock’s WWE return was said to be 100% in the plans. However, that may not happen anymore.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE changing The Bloodline’s Roman Reigns acknowledgement ceremony. Meltzer noted that it had nothing to do with The Rock’s WrestleMania 39 status.

I thought there was a decent chance that these multiple generations acknowledging Roman Reigns, would make a comment about him being right up there with The Rock, somehow planting a seed for a match at WrestleMania. If Rock isn’t doing WrestleMania, there isn’t a point in having this acknowledgement ceremony. Perhaps that’s why it was changed.

I would say no because unless it’s a big swerve, it was known by insiders as the probable thing for a while. It’s not like he gave his final word on Thursday, like ‘Hey, I’m not doing it.’ It’s like they were aware. I think this change was a change of plans. It’s been known for a while. There was still stuff that happened well back, the way he said, there was a lot of skepticism whether that match would take place, going back a month.

As Ringside News exclusively reported, WWE Creative had been pitching alternative ideas for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. WWE also has not discussed The Rock for non-wrestling role at the event. Regardless, The Rock’s status for the Show of Shows seems dubious right now, and fans will have to accept that.
