WWE is going all out with WrestleMania this year, but one huge name will not be competing as many hoped. For years, fans have booked a dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns, and it appears they will be forced to wait even longer to see that match go down.

Ringside News exclusively reported in December that WWE creative was pitching alternative ideas for Roman Reigns in case The Rock can’t make it. It turns out that The Rock cannot make it. We also exclusively reported one month later that WWE has their WrestleMania card all together.

Ringside News was told by a tenured member of the creative team that The Rock won’t be in “ring shape” for a match with Roman Reigns by WrestleMania. We were told that The Rock can still appear on the show. That being said, no ideas have been pitched for The Rock in a non-wrestling capacity.

Can Rock appear on the show? Yes. Nothing determined or discussed yet. But “in ring shape for a match with Roman” can’t happen by then.

The Rock has not 100% ruled out showing up at WrestleMania, but he will not be wrestling. This might bum some fans out, especially those who were counting on The Rock vs Roman Reigns, but he apparently doesn’t have enough time to get ready for a match.

WrestleMania 39 will go down in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on April 1st and 2nd. Only time will tell who shows up at the event, because the thought of WrestleMania going Hollywood will certainly being out some A-List names.

WWE has a lot of plans for WrestleMania, and we can’t wait to tell you all about it right here at Ringside News.

What’s your take on The Rock missing another WrestleMania? Sound off in the comments!

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
