WWE once again mentioned the tragic accident during SmackDown tonight. Michael Cole paid his respect to the late great tag team specialist live on air during the opening contest of the WWE Tag Title Contender’s Tournament.

“We would like to send out our condolences to the family of Jay Briscoe. Jay passed away suddenly earlier this week. He and his brother Mark formed one of wrestling’s great tag teams, and many in WWE are paying their respects and sending their condolences.”

AEW was unable to hold a proper tribute show during Dynamite this week. This was because WarnerMedia blocked AEW from airing tribute show for Jay Briscoe, due to his past homophobic comments.

Instead, the company had to film a tribute show for Jay Briscoe after their weekly Rampage taping concluded after Dynamite. You can check out the spoilers for the tribute show here.
