Cody Rhodes left AEW back in February, and fans were certainly surprised by this. Before he left the company, Rhodes was one of the highlights of AEW television, as he put over a lot of talent. It has been many months since his AEW departure, but fans continue to talk about the reasons behind it even now. In fact, Eric Bischoff thinks creative frustration was a reason why he left AEW.

Rhodes was frequently booed in AEW towards the very end of his run with the company. Fans simply wanted him to turn heel no matter what, but that never happened. Rhodes also does not want to change a thing about that.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff talked about Cody Rhodes leaving AEW. Bischoff stated that he believes creative frustration was a big reason why Rhodes parted ways with AEW.

“There was some frustration, you know, because WWE had WrestleMania when Cody was there before [as Stardust]. That’s why he left. He didn’t feel creatively fulfilled, and he didn’t believe that anything would change in the near future. And he went to WWE, so he could be in charge of his own destiny, which is, went to AEW so he could be in charge of his own destiny… But something happened there, and I would imagine it was just creative frustration.”
