Cody Rhodes is a lot of things to a lot of people, but to one fan, he is nothing more than a man of his word. In October of 2021, a fan tweeted to Cody that watching him on AEW Rampage was helping him cope with the untimely death of his brother. Cody invited the fan to a future AEW event as a show of support.

The fan responded that AEW had already come through Philadelphia and that they had simply purchased tickets to attend. They also noted that they would love to take Cody Rhodes up on the gesture the next time AEW comes to Philadelphia. It was left at that for the time being.

AEW Dynamite goes down in the City of Brotherly Love next week. The fan tweeted that they had to sadly explain to their nephew that Cody was no longer able to help them because he left AEW to sign with WWE. Rhodes didn’t let that stop him from delivering on his promise.

“I got ya’ – check dms”

Cody Rhodes appears more than happy to patronize the company he helped found before walking away from it to pursue another dream. Cody could have simply ignored the tweet and moved on. Instead, he delivered on the kind gesture he offered six months ago.

Stories like these don’t come too often in the gritty world of pro wrestling. Cody should be celebrated for taking the time to respond to this fan’s tweet in the first place. In this case, he has gone way above and beyond when he did not have to. Kudos to Cody Rhodes for doing the right thing.
