Vince McMahon was the Chairman of WWE for several years and he overlooked everything that went on in WWE till the very end. That all ended all of a sudden earlier this year after he was accused of a hush money scandal. Recent reports suggested that McMahon plans on returning to WWE, which many fans and pro wrestlers did not like at all. That being said, many fans also wonder whether WWE will end up getting sold after his retirement. Eric Bischoff believes WWE could be sold now that McMahon has retired.

Following Vince McMahon’s retirement, Triple H took over as head of WWE Creative. This ended up changing the company in quite a few ways, as fans feel the overall product has seen a ton of improvement.

That being said, the subject of WWE getting sold still remains a huge topic of discussion even now. While speaking to Scott Fishman, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff stated that he believes WWE getting sold is definitely more plausible now that McMahon has retired.

“I’d say right now it’s more plausible to me that the WWE would sell because Vince McMahon is no longer, at least visibly, in the picture.

He is still in the picture as a majority shareholder, and guess what? He can still say no. It’s his company. It is possible even though Vince isn’t the CEO or chairman, that Vince could step up and prevent a sale.

It makes sense, which is why people keep talking about it … You can make a really strong story for an NBC, a Fox, or at one point Disney … but it makes sense. As long as it makes sense and people continue to project it, it’s probably going to happen. I don’t know though.”

Bischoff is also surprised that Vince McMahon’s retirement didn’t hurt WWE’s stock. McMahon’s possible return is also an exhausting idea internally in WWE. We will have to wait and see whether WWE will end up getting sold someday.
