Jake Roberts Believes MJF Shows What Roddy Piper Could Have Been As World Champion

MJF has been touted as one of the defining heels of the current generation of pro wrestlers and it is not hard to understand why. MJF became huge star in AEW in a short time and is now the AEW World Champion. Many pro wrestlers are really high on MJF and that includes even Jake Roberts.

MJF has been compared to one of the greatest pro wrestlers to have ever laced up a pair of boots – ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper. This includes Jim Cornette, who previously stated that Roddy Piper would have loved MJF.

While speaking on The Snake Pit, WWE Hall Of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts was asked whether he believes MJF as World Champion is displaying what Roddy Piper himself would have been like, had he been a World Champion.

”Yeah, it [MJF’s run as World Champion] definitely could. Roddy was another one of those guys who didn’t need a belt. But had Vince seen the light and worked with Piper, I think it would have been just unbelievable because Viper was such a strong character.”

MJF also previously said that he is an attraction like Andre The Giant. MJF also took out William Regal on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see how he will be booked as the champion in the coming weeks.
